September on the Costa Brava: Why It Might Be the Best Time to Visit
When we think of summer on the Costa Brava, July and August usually come to mind. But there’s something special about September: the days are still warm, the Mediterranean holds onto the summer heat, and the beaches are still perfect for spending hours by the sea — only everything starts to feel a little more peaceful.
For those who prefer travelling without the rush and crowds, September might be one of the best times to discover Lloret de Mar and the Costa Brava.
Fewer Crowds, More Tranquillity
After the lively pace of July and August, September brings a calmer side of the Costa Brava.
Beaches and coves become less crowded, walking around Lloret is more enjoyable, and it’s easier to find quiet moments by the sea.
Places such as Sa Caleta, Cala dels Frares and Cala Trons gradually regain their relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to experience them differently: walk there, find a spot overlooking the Mediterranean and simply stay for a while, listening to the sea.
The Mediterranean Is Still Waiting
Just because August is over doesn’t mean summer is.
September still brings plenty of sunny days and pleasant temperatures, while the Mediterranean retains much of the warmth accumulated over the previous months.
It’s the perfect time to combine mornings at the beach with leisurely walks, terraces, afternoons by the pool and exploring the surrounding area without the intense heat of peak summer.
The Perfect Time to Walk the Camí de Ronda
While the heat of July and August might make you want to spend the entire day in the water, September also invites you to explore on foot.
The Camí de Ronda takes you through some of the Costa Brava’s most beautiful landscapes, passing cliffs, pine forests, small coves and viewpoints overlooking the Mediterranean.
From the Sa Caleta area, you can discover some of these spots on foot and experience the coastline at a much more relaxed pace.
Comfortable shoes, some water and no rush. The landscape takes care of the rest.
Lloret Changes Its Rhythm Too
September is a chance to discover a different side of Lloret de Mar.
Start the day by the sea, wander through its streets, sit down at a terrace, discover one of the nearby coves or simply spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool.
And perhaps that’s one of the best things about travelling at this time of year: you don’t need to fill every day with plans.
One Last Escape Before Returning to Routine
September has that special feeling of transition between summer and returning to everyday life.
That makes it the perfect time for one last spontaneous getaway: a few days by the sea, breakfasts without an alarm clock, sunset walks and some time to switch off before a new season begins.
From Hotel Acacias Suites & Spa, located in the peaceful Sa Caleta area and just a few minutes’ walk from the sea, you can enjoy Lloret and its surroundings while always having somewhere to return to, whether to rest, spend some time by the pool or enjoy a relaxing moment at the spa.
Because perhaps summer doesn’t end when August does.
Sometimes, it simply changes its rhythm.
